  • Present work samples. What do you notice?
  • Did anticipated learning occur? Any unanticipated learning?
  • How did you use formative assessment to adjust your teaching to be better assured of reaching all students? What examples can you share?
  • How did technology support your project aims?
  • How will what you learned in designing and implementing this project carry over to other teaching initiatives?

After presentation: any clarifying questions from the group? Short comment time.

Some things to think about are here:

Some additional considerations for the work and reflections you select are in the video: http://tedxnyed.com/2011/ , summarized below.

The Culture of Learning

  • Learning is social –collaborate and connect.

  • Learning needs to be purposeful.

  • Learning is about making a contribution.

  • Learning occurs when the learner is “truly” engaged.

  • Learning occurs in an environment built on strong relationships.

  • Learning should be about innovation, generation of ideas, creation.

  • Learning is not simply about the transfer of knowledge from one individual to another and control.

  • Learning requires time to reflect, process, and question to understanding.

Particular Questions to Guide Your Project Based Learning Assessment
These are in this form.
  • Did you find it useful to formulate a "driving question?" How was it useful to students?
  • Did anticipated learning occur? Any unanticipated learning?
  • How did you use formative assessment to adjust your teaching to be better assured of reaching all students? What examples can you share?
  • How did technology support your project aims?
  • How will what you learned in designing and implementing this project carry over to other teaching initiatives?
  • What work samples can you contribute to the showcase?
